Biography – Steven Terence Jackson (Steve)

Steve was educated at Hutton Grammar School, Preston before managing his first position within his fathers’ metal recycling business at the age of 16.

13 years later in October 1995 he went into business himself after researching the internet and forming the first Preston ISP and UK web address company.

In 1996 New Reg Limited was incorporated and NewReg.com, the first internet vehicle registrations website was launched, which today has become the benchmark for the industry.

In late 1998 Steve returned to his interests in recycling and in 1999 had purchased all competing recycling companies within the Preston area and merged with his Fathers’ company to form Preston Recycling Limited.  Further expansion of this company has ensured the embrace all new Government directives for National recycling categories.

After acquiring a major share in Preston North End FC, Steve was instrumental in the reorganisation and streamlining of the company, ensuring that the club quickly adjusted to a post Premium TV structure. During his last two years at the club as Chief Executive; Preston North End reached the play offs consecutively.  Steve left Preston North End in 2006 to develop other businesses.

With a keen interest in helping to reduce homelessness and worklessness and improve opportunities for social entrepreneurship, Steve has been developing a new concept called Recycling Lives, which consists of a charity sustained by a commercial entity working harmoniously.  The first Recycling Lives centre opened in December 2008 Preston in and with others in the pipeline across the UK the concept is already on target to develop nationally.

His business interests also include property development, bars and nightclubs.
